How much should a major service on a 5 series actually cost?
I've got a 2016 BMW 528i with 110k km and the CBS is telling me it's time for a major service. The dealer quoted me over 5,000 AED which seems insane. I called a few independent shops and the prices ranged from 1,800 to 4,500. I'm trying to figure out what's actually included in a major service. Some places include spark plugs, air filters, cabin filter, oil, and brake fluid. Others add things like coolant flush and transmission service. I found a place that offers Professional BMW Major Minor and they gave me a detailed breakdown. My question is, at 110k km, should I be doing the transmission fluid too even though BMW says it's lifetime? Also, how often does the coolant need to be flushed? I don't want to overpay but I also don't want to skip important maintenance. Any advice on what should be in a major service at this mileage would be great. Thanks.
