My printer, the Samsung ML2010 is compatible with Vista RC1. However, I haven't had much success getting it to install. When I plug the printer in the USB port, vista doesn't detect any changes in hardware, and when I install the XP drivers from the Samsung website, it doesn't appear the computer is properly communicating (or communicating at all for that matter) with the printer.
I have a Samsung ML-2010 and could not get double sided (duplex) printing when I first installed it to Windows 10, as it installed a Universal Driver 3 rather than a specific one. However I cured the problem as follows:* Control Panel: Devices and Printers. This is an old-fashioned page, not the dumbed-down one Windows 10 may try to show you. If you can't find it , press the Windows key + R shortcut to bring up the Run dialogType control printers and press Enter.* Right click on your printer and go to Printer properties (not Printing properties).* Click on Advanced tab, next to Driver select Samsung ML-2010 series and click "New Driver"* This will take you to an "Add Printer Driver Wizard" which will let you download and install a driver from "Windows Update".* Restart your computer (I could see and select the double-sided options, but didn't get to use them correctly until I restarted the computer).
After I did all this steps with my Samsung SCX-3200 printer, the manual duplex printing vanished. I cannot see anywhere. If I use Universal Driver 3 I can see the manual duplex printing, but if I select that option, the printer not print anything. I cannot install the driver from the cd, because I don't have any working cd reader. (Only in my Windows XP laptop, but I know it has a lot of virus.)
When I also moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I couldn't make it work properly, so I needed to update the drivers. I faced some problems with the updates and I just uninstalled and deleted everything. It is very easy to find the drivers again because Samsung has everything on their own website, so you just need to type the model and then you can find everything you need for it. Besides that, I bought a nice cardstock printer after I saw a cool review on -sublimation-printer-reviews/ and I also downloaded drivers on their website.
For anyone trying to get ML2165W to work with Big Sur: the official SpliX tarball did not work for me. However, there is a patched fork on GitHub: Installation requires manual compilation:1. Install homebrew -- instructions are on brew.sh2. In terminal, install command line tools: xcode-select --install3. In terminal, install jbigkit: brew install jbigkit4. Unpack the archive downloaded from the master branch5. Build and install the SpliX tool -- in terminal run make && sudo make install6. The make install will fail when trying to copy Samsung drivers. Ignore this failure.7. Select the drivers you want to install. They are in the root directory and in the ppd/ subdirectory. For ML2165W, it was ml2165.ppd in the root directory.8. In terminal, install the driver manually:sudo chown root:admin [driver].ppd && sudo gzip [driver].ppd && sudo mv [driver].ppd.gz /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/

Description: This is the most current driver of the Samsung Universal Printer Driver (UPD) for Windows for Samsung printers. Operating systems: Windows 11, Windows 10 (64-bit / 32-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit / 32-bit), Windows 8.1 (64-bit / 32-bit), Windows 7 (64-bit / 32-bit), Windows Vista (64-bit / 32-bit), Windows XP (64-bit / 32-bit).
Before installing the driver and software, do not connect the device to the computer. Start installing the software and you will be prompted when exactly you need to connect your device to your computer. The download is from the Samsung official website. If you installed the driver incorrectly, uninstall the driver, restart your computer, and reinstall the software.
Also, if a printer is set up twice with different drivers it doesn't work with any of them. So you should only have one printer in Settings > Printers (per each device). You can have both driver packs installed on your system, though.
Currently, not all printers have drivers suitable for use with macOS Monterey due to the operating system being new. However, most printer manufacturers have compiled some information on printers with driver support.
Please note: Apple no longer provides support for printer driver updates through Apple Software Update (ASU) for most printer manufacturers anymore. You will either find these drivers directly from the printer manufacturers websites or use the Apple AirPrint feature if available on your printer.
The ideal solution though would be full feature printer driver support, rather than just the basic features in AirPrint. This may come over time, but we recommend checking for printer driver availability through the respective manufacturers.
macOS Monterey is incompatible with any 32-bit applications. Anything designed for this now would be 64-bit.If you could let me know which printer model you have I could check the drivers for you. Alternatively, it should be compatible via Apple Airprint.
Recommendation: If you are inexperienced with updating Samsung Laser Printer device drivers manually, we highly recommend downloading DriverDoc [Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft] to assist in updating your ML-2010 drivers. DriverDoc saves time and headaches by making sure that you are downloading and installing the correct ML-2010 drivers.
ML-2010 errors can be related to corrupt or outdated device drivers. Drivers can work one day, and suddenly stop working the next day, for a variety of reasons. The good news is that Laser Printer drivers can be updated to correct any problems.
Locating the right ML-2010 driver on Samsung's website can be very difficult, and can often take a lot of time searching. Even for someone who is experienced at finding, downloading, and manually updating ML-2010 drivers, the process can still be exceptionally tedious and extremely annoying. Installing incorrect drivers may have an adverse impact on the functionality of your hardware or operating system.
